Zoning Bylaws
Planning in Georgian Bluffs
What Is A Zoning Bylaw?
A comprehensive zoning bylaw is a legal planning document which recognizes and permits various details in the use of land and or location of buildings and structures on land. The provisions contained in the zoning bylaw are one of the primary tools used to achieve the directions contained in the relevant Official Plan.
The zoning bylaw defines various land use categories, establishes the uses permitted in a particular 'zone', and the zone standards or provisions which will apply, ie a side yard setback.
The Township of Georgian Bluffs has a comprehensive zoning bylaw , # 6-2003, which establishes land uses for areas within the Township.
The Township may consider amendments to the zoning when information is provided which shows that there is merit in granting relief and showing that there will be no negative impact on abutting properties or the environment.
What is Development?
