What Is An Official Plan?
An Official Plan or OP is a document adopted by a municipality which is intended to guide present and future land use. The Official Plan gives direction to meet the future goals often, as in the case of Georgian Bluffs, as detailed in the Strategic Plan.

Georgian Bluffs New PROPOSED Official Plan

The Township is in the process of developing its first Official Plan to guide the development of the community for the next 20 years. Currently the County of Grey Official Plan applies to areas within the geographic Townships of Keppel and Derby. The Sarawak Township area has its own OP in addition to the County OP.

The Township is working with Cuesta Planning to prepare its own OP document. Open Houses and other public meeting formats will be used to receive the public's comments and input into the future planning of the area. Please look to the front page for more details on this project.

Cuesta Planning Consultants are proceeding to draft some preliminary policies for Council and the public to review. This work will be proceeding for Council review in February and  additional public meetings will be scheduled shortly there after in 2011.
